Gordon Doell is of the Chief Executive Office and Founder OBASA Group of Companies. In 1986 Gord started buying, renovating and renting houses. Over the years his Real Estate interests grew to residential, commercial and warehouse industrial properties in various cities in Saskatchewan.
Today OBASA is diversified with its primary business in Real Estate Development/Property Management and Land Annexation creating subdivisions for families in various capacities.
The Corporate Housing division OBASA Suites is not only one of Gord's core businesses; it is one of his business passions... OBASA Suites has spread across Canada and the Continental United States with affiliate's World Wide. OBASA Suites was the recent winner recipient of the 2012 Consumer Choice Award.
Even though Gord has a great passion for creating new developments he also has an appreciation for buildings of older architecture. His recent warehouse loft conversion of the tractor manufacturing facility, "The Rumley Building" won the Heritage Award for sympathetic reconstruction of this 1912 landmark in downtown Saskatoon.
Gord lives in Saskatoon with his wife Yvonne and baby boy William Michael. While business often takes Gord away, he fosters his time at home with his new family. Gord has experienced many heart felt moments in the past years. Being a father later on in life has helped him to balance a busy schedule so he has time to enjoy watching his son's precious moments.
On a personal level, in 1999 the Mayor of the City of Saskatoon presented Gord a citation for Laudable Conduct.
Cynthia Hernandez has over 10 years of experience in accounting and several years of experience in graphic design and advertising. She is passionate about her two backgrounds and enjoys when she has the opportunity to implement both. Hernandez says that if her right and left side of the brain were hands, she would be ambidextrous.
Though her past roles, Cynthia developed experience in project management, human resources, financial reports, customer management, printed and digital media products.
Cynthia is originally from Mexico. Living in 3 different countries during the last 12 years, created in her a strong ability to adapt to new scenarios and develop new skills.
Darryl Balzer is Chief Financial Officer of OBASA Group of Companies. Born and raised in Saskatoon, Darryl graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and went on to article for his CA designation with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Edmonton, Alberta. He brings a wide variety of experience to OBASA including audit and corporate tax from his public practice time along with 8 years of executive financial leadership in local industry. Serving others and striving to add value to the business are at the core of Darryl’s leadership style. He works closely with the CEO of OBASA providing financial information and analysis that is succinct, accurate and valuable for making business decisions.
Marla was hired as Business Development and Operations Manager for OBASA Group of Company in Saskatoon and Regina. She has over 10 years of experience in the Hospitality industry and building and sustaining business relationships. She was born and raised in Calgary and moved to Saskatoon in 2011.She is passionate about operations and sales of a company and finding new and innovated ways to improve upon it. Her expertise comes from 7 years of leadership positions in the hospitality field, specializing in Sales, Operations, Marketing and management.
She is committed to customer service, creating strategies and executing plans to hit targets, which, has allowed her to be successful throughout her career. Marla has professional yet personable and approachable characteristics which have been fundamental in building her success.
Stacey brings Obasa over 13 years in the auditing field. Her talent of assessing procedures and internal controls has been an asset to the Obasa team. With audit review and preparation of financial statements, Stacey is dedicated and exceedingly detail-oriented.
Angie brings with her many years of Customer Service Experience. She has 12 years experience working as a Flight Attendant for Canadian Regional Airlines and knows first hand how important customer service truly is. She prides herself on knowing her clients needs and makes it her mission to ensure that all of their needs and expectations are met and their stay with OBASA is a memorable one. There is no greater compliment that she can receive than hearing that a guest had a wonderful stay and would like to return once again.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Scott graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor Degree in Education. After many years of teaching Scott moved into a field that he was most passionate about; Music. As a touring musician Scott gained a wide variety of skills as agent, promoter, manager, press agent, project manager and grant writer which opened up many opportunities and an abundance of experiences as it relates to the field of Sales and Marketing. Many of these skills and experiences lead to various positions in the role of Sales, Training, SR&ED Grants, and Government Administration all while maintaining the role of press agent/ grant writer within the arts community of Saskatchewan. .
Scott is looking forward to developing and defining his role at OBASA Suites / MasterKey Alliance and establishing long term / short term goals for providing excellent customer service, creating opportunity and building personal and professional success.

An Ontario native, Elle has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry including positions with Holiday Inn Worldwide, Global Travel Apartments, BridgeStreet Accommodations, DelSuites and Oakwood Worldwide. In her most recent position as the Supply Chain Manager for Canada at Oakwood Worldwide, Elle managed relationships with Canada’s best corporate housing companies. Travelling across the country, Elle has personally visited her supplier partners to fully understand their capabilities and how they align with her clients’ expectations. Elle is an active member is key industry associations. In September 2014, Elle was elected to the Board of Directors for CERC (Canadian Employee Relocation Council), is co-chair of the Central Region Committee for CERC and also held the position of 2013 CERC Conference Chair. In addition, Elle has actively served on the Canadian Advisory Board for CHPA (Corporate Housing Providers Association) since 2012. Elle has received numerous awards for exceptional service, including the Sue Ryan Service Award and the Meritorious Service Award from CERC. Elle holds a Certified Corporate Housing Professional designation by CHPA, as well as a bachelor’s degree in hotel management.
Carol brings many years of experience including hotel, residential and commercial cleaning to the OBASA team in Regina. A loyal and valued employee, Carol’s ability to lead a productive team of housekeepers coupled with her high standard for quality and detail made her the perfect candidate for Executive Housekeeper.
